No pedals and not a motorcycle, maybe it is a scooter or pocket bike. On sunny days I can charge using solar pannels and sunshine.
Thekpv gained momentum in the summer of 2008 by Terry Hope. After approximately a thousand hours of e-bike research and development his DIY micro mobility electric vehicle concept materialized with four goals:
Engineer a electrical circuit with an mechanical system to capture, store and harvest electrical power.
Use alternative energy for a prototype electro-solar hybrid.
Eliminate extra greenhouse gas emissions and lower the carbon footprint by recharging the battery pack off-the-grid.
Construct a vehicle with a solar pannels & small enough foot print to be stowed away inside a Samsonite suitcase for easy transport.

I’ve been experimenting with a small scale solar power system. Right now, I am just powering a battery charger for D, C, AAA, AA and 9volt batteries. So far its been very easy to work with. I will do some more experimenting with lighting and other 12 volt appliances and post the results.

Building a small solar panels set up is very affordable and as solar starts to catch on in the professional market the price will begin to drop. Supplementing power in your home can drastically cut down on your electric bill. sites like http://www.freesunpower.com/ have a lot of great info for basics and beginners.

Homemade Windmill on windy day
Posted by Admin in Homemade Windmills on May 4th, 2010
The windmill has a diameter of about 30 inches and the blades were made on a 3 axis CNC router, so they have a perfect airfoil and the right amount of twist. The generator is a simple dc motor from pump. The whole system is charging a 3s2p pack of 2500mah nimh AA batteries, for a total of 6 at 3.8 volts. The left meter is amps and the right is the battery voltage. The pole is a 4 inch drainage pipe that is 10 ft long.
The max power ever recorded with this windmill is 30.4 watts (3.4 amps @ 9 volts). The rpm max is roughly 3000 rpm, about 1400rpm at 1 amp. I made this entire project in about 5 hours plus design time.
