if you have a shop, …
if you have a shop, for installing solar power system, you should first consider what type of equipment are availanble in your workshop, and what are their power consumption. how many hoers you are using each equipment , after calculating your daily power consumption, divide the total power to approximately five hours sun time depending your location, that will set the amount of power you sill need for solar system. and always better to make it grid-tied system. batteries are very costly.

You should really …
You should really look into using identical batteries. Mixing batteries of different age, and output is not good for them and you’ll end up spending more on future batteries than actually saving electricity. From the looks of it, you are using an automotive battery and a deep cycle battery together. An even bigger no-no as they are meant for two completely different tasks.

SSI 200W grid tie …
SSI 200W grid tie inverter can be purchased from buyerIsland for $259.00
this is something to look at. Using this puts power into the home grid cheaper then what you are looking to upgrade to “you said you wanted to upgrade from you inverter you have now.”
Plus you don’t have to maintain batteries or space for them.

Nice vid. …
Nice vid. Something to consider: Those automotive batteries, if deeply discharged are not going to last long. i had a similar setup with a couple of automotive batteries and one of them died after 6 months. (there was a 1 yr full replacement warranty – hehe). Later this summer I’ll post the new setup for my solar cabin. Thanks for sharing.
