    you will end up …
    you will end up with the smallest panel’s voltage and amperage as well the smallest panel sets the pace of the race……

    Its Actually an …
    Its Actually an altenator in my work truck , So its a 12 volt system , powering an 24 volt inverter. I just want to get this hooked up right before I fry something

    I just recently purchased a 24volt inverter and am wondering where i connect my generator to what posts. The one being linked between both ?
    Thanks, Tom

    You Provide some …
    You Provide some great information Dan. We have been thinking seriously of going Solar either partially or completely off of the grid. I had no clue how the solar systems worked until I saw your videos. You simplify things which helps people to decide what best fits their needs. Thanks for sharing your expertise on this.

    What is your source …
    What is your source on that definition?

    Is “Current” being retired the same way Electro-Motive Force was when it was when it was replaced with “Voltage”? “Amperage” used to be one of those words only some technicians and laymen would use. If an engineering textbook were to use the word “Amperage”, I would feel a bit discouraged.

    he actually can say …
    he actually can say that because amperage IS a word. Amperage- the strength of an electrical current measured in amperes.

    i seen alot of …
    i seen alot of invertors around but i find that the 24volt is rare and from your vid i found that they are more effecient as i thought i am looking heavly into Solar power as well as Solar Heating

    to increase the …
    to increase the voltage you divide the amps to increase amps you divide voltage the wattage stays the same amp X volt=watt i found this tidbit helpful to understand what hes saying

    I like your video. …
    I like your video.
    I would like to point out that connecting the three
    cells in series DOES NOT increase power.
    In series:
    P= i*v = (.5A)( 12v+12v+12v) = 18W
    in parallel:
    P=i*v = (1.5A)(12v) = 18W
    You see you don’t increase power. You just
    increase the current to your load. The power remains constant no matter what arrangement you have them in.

    I am an Engineer, by the way.

    good video though

    If I hook them in …
    If I hook them in series instead of paralell do you think I can run my inverter? The inverter is designed to run off of 12 volts so I risk blowing a fuse hooking up three 45 watt 12 volt panels in series. If I hook them in paralell I am back to point zero of my problem, not being able to even power an inverter. It basically works out to be a waste of my $240.00 dollars.

    Hi Dan, your video …
    Hi Dan, your video using the harbor freight 45 watt solar kit prompted me to buy one and I personally think it is shit. I could not run a 450 watt inverter or a 750 watt inverter off the supposed 4 amp 45 watt solar panel setup. Yeah it can run a couple of stupid lights in the daytime and trickle charge a battery but it ends up being a waste of money. I have two 6 volt golf cart batteries that work great with my inverters but it would take the HF unit days to charge them, what gives?

    I know this is …
    I know this is nitpicking, but do you have to say “amperage”? That isn’t a word. ‘Current’ is the word you’re looking for.
