Since when were the degregulated PRIVATE utility companies part of the government? Since they are not, this cannot be considered socialism. There is the possibility of control via a private organization, but Americans are already used to that. It’s called the Federal Reserve.
In order to facilitate change in one facet of life, other facets must also change. In my opinion, this is for the better, because this jam we are in can most likely be blamed on unchecked capitalist expansion.

I am curious to see if this kind of technology will get to the point where convicts can only use so much electricity, and political rivals or other dissidents are punished by taking away their electricity; but then quickly blaming it on “just a mistake”.
