    Here in the States, …
Here in the States, the meter spins backwards. At one time, people used to ’steal’ electricity by turning ther meter upside down for one week of the month.

But, the compnay charges for use. regardless of the direction, you pay for watts. if you put it back on the grid, you will get paid for the energy, less the fee to be connected.

Regardless, it would be very expensive to have enough power to use it all and sell any back.

    depends on your …
depends on your area, some states require they buy it from you at the rate they sell it at.

    If you return …
If you return anything back to the grid the Electric company is not required to pay you anything .. However they are required to credit your account. SO If you pump $4000.00 worth into the grid over 10 yrs. & a meteor crashes your panels.. They Owe you $4000.00 worth of Electricity.

    you can get an …
you can get an agreement to this end in the UK and in Spain at least. Although your consumption needs to be pretty low and you’ll need LOTS of panels. A group of friends are looking at buying a small piece of land to put them on but the cost is huge to set up (hence the group). A friend’s uncle did this. If you have money, great, but a loan would barely cover it.

    yes it is possible …
yes it is possible to sell the power you make back to the grid…but power companies are very picky at the quality of the power that you are selling them.. that is why alot of people dont bother and just let their meters run backwards without telling power companies…power companies are not fans of people who do this though lol
