How to use solar panels to power the autorickshaw or tuk-tuk?
Posted by Admin in Solar Power Panels on September 14th, 2009
Guys this is my final yr project , i am planning to use solar panels on the roof of the tuk-tuk, to power it up.Please help me as to how to go about this and what would be the approximate cost..please give any refrences or websites that might help..please help me out on this one..ill be very grateful ,thank you
A tuk tuk has an engine with a capacity of about 175-400 cc, about 15-30 horsepower or 11-23 kW. At a ballpark value of 70 mW per square inch of solar panel – obtained from

you will need an area of 600-1200 square feet to provide that power directly, and that is only when the sun is shining. If you use a smaller area to recharge a battery the tuk tuk is going to be stationary for corresponding periods of time.
How do solar panels and solar energy connect?
Posted by Admin in Solar Energy Panels on September 14th, 2009
Does the solar energy hit the solar panels and creates electricity.. or what ?
Where can you put solar panels ?
There are now thousands of happy Earth4Energy members worldwide who are saving money every time the sun rises and every time the wind blows! Check out this site:

What does reducing water usage have to do with reducing energy consumption of a home?
Posted by Admin in Reduce Energy Usage on September 14th, 2009
I don’t get it. How does reducing water usage in a home reduce the energy consumption in that home? I thought we only reduce energy consumption by reducing electricity usage?
More water consumption leads to more energy consumption for the following reasons.
1. Water is energy, wasting it is a waste of energy. maybe not to the end user, but to the whole community (think of hydropower)
2. More water consumption, means more hot water consumption. And hot water is produced via electricity or any other means of energy.
How to Build a Solar Panel? Any ideas?

I’m curious to find out how to build a solar panel? I would like to start using this technology, but it’s too expensive to purchase. Is there a way to build your own?
Run the costs before going to "solar school."
homemade windmill question?
Posted by Admin in Homemade Windmills on September 14th, 2009
i am thinking about try to make a homemade windmill. for a hs science competition, i made a small scale one that worked well, and we had to use the standard little DC motors as the generator and it worked well.
when i was talking w/ my tech teacher, he said that this would only work w/ dc motors, i mean the generating power part. is this true, b/c i have an old blender motor i was thinking of trying to turn into a windmill motor? if you have any more questions about the motor, i will try to answer them as best i can. i also have an old garage door motor. will either work?
thanks
I believe that dc motors have permanent magnets which will cause the electrons in the wires to move as they are passed by. A car alternator hooked up to a battery is 1 good way to make a small scale turbine and you can hook that up to an inverter that is designed to go in to a car to run things like video game systems so it can run 110v devices.
How do you build a homemade solar panel?

I am trying to build a solar panel for a school project and I am trying to find websites with tutorials. Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.
Here are some solar heaters:

For solar electric, these may help, but you need to start by buying solar cells.

How much does it cost do have solar power to run an average home? Wind power? hydro Power? How big is the unit
Posted by Admin in Home Wind Power on September 14th, 2009
This is for a science project so I need a valid source. By the question about the size of the unit I mean exactly how many solar cells, how many blades, depth of water, models for all(if possible). I’m not looking for someone to do my science fair project, I just need someone to point me in the right direction!!
a lot
I’ve been thinking…..It’s kind of funny.?

Ok, picture this: There is allmighty, powerfull God who created EVERYTHING. He created the HUGE universe with all the planets and galaxies and solar systems.
Now take yourself in comparison to all that. You are small tiny little speck.
Now everythime you feel like yelling at God with your tiny little fist, or putting Him down for your problems, or complaining. OR saying He doesn’t exist. Just imagine how silly it looks to God.
It’s like an ant trying to do that to you.
But He still cares for you and loves you no matter how silly you act sometimes.
What are your thoughts on this?
Pln: You pointed out another great reason why God is worthy of our praise. He’s not like us. He listens to us even if we are that small compared to everything.
farien3 : I’ll just say one thing. THere would be no religion of any type if there was no GOD. What for??
farien3: You need to read further it also says in the same chapter, verse 26: And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. and
33: As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.
I’m sorry, last comment was meant for Pedestal…
Nice and logical.
Are there any good do-it-yourself solar programs out there?
Posted by Admin in Do it Yourself Solar Panels on September 14th, 2009
I’m interested in adding solar panels to my house to help cut energy costs.
Also, I think it would just be a neat project to do.
I’m reasonably handy and have heard about programs to help with supply of solar panels and installation for DIY solar.
Does anybody know of a good one?
There are many guides out there, I think you have to have some experience on building such systems before getting one of them. Earth4Energy guide may be a nice one.
